Today's blog is one I really am thankful to post because of the blessings that others have provided us, have been extended to a sweet family in Senegal.

As I have posted before, the sweet Pastor Omer and his family have a home that is in perpetual construction. Material and labor here is expensive, and it is pay as you go unless you are really wealthy.

While visiting in their home one day, I realized that they have no screens on their windows and no screens on their doors. This means they have to sleep with their doors and windows shut at night and since one bedroom doubles as the kitchen, with the heat and the flies and the rainy season starting bringing mosquitoes and malaria,  well I told Peggy we have to do something.

In addition, homes over here have no closets because space inside homes being a premium and closets would be a luxury, you either have to have a lot of free standing clothes racks or at least a dresser or two. Again, a luxury over here.

With 2 and 3 people sharing single rooms and the limited clothes space, you can imagine the clutter and the only place for your clothes would be on the floor. I know, I know some men don't have a problem with hanging their clothes on the floor but women are different.

I am happy to report, Peggy and I, thanks to the generosity of so many people who helped us get here, we had 3 windows with screens, 3 doors with screens, and 3 small clothes containers made for this sweet family.

Our friend DouDou and his helper went, measured and
prebuilt all the above, a work of art and a miracle in itself, then today we delivered it and they installed it all. Pictures are included of the before and after.

It made Peggy so weepy today just to know a small gift on everyone's part, done in the name of Jesus, will have eternal rewards so she hasn't been able to control her emotions today..but that is a good thing. We made it a point to tell DouDou, that his hands are blessed by our God with his amazing talents.

We go tomorrow to the center, to love and  play with the kids then we will go to the school and hang coat hooks for the kids' backpacks.

People have asked about Peggy's African hair cut, so I will attach pictures, hopefully.

Love and blessings,

Ken and Peggy
